9-11 What have you survived?

As we look at the amount of damage caused by hurricanes and storms in the past few weeks, it’s so hard to believe that just 16 years ago 9-11 happened. This fact only proves the following:

“I will lie down and fall asleep in peace because you alone, LORD, let me live in safety” (Psalm 4:8).

Yesterday was World Suicide Prevention Day. As a childhood abuse survivor who was plagued with the constant thought of suicide, I have to be reminded of this day each year. I bask in the gift of every day: my victory does not rest in what was, almost was or could have been.

Each day you get to CHOOSE what type of day you will have and its outcome. You cannot control all events, environments or circumstances, but you can CHOOSE how you allow them to affect or infect you.

I say this with 100% confidence as I’m experiencing an acceleration of a chronic illness which increases the pain I experience daily. I can only do what is natural for me:

Today, what will you decide? Whose report will you listen to and believe? Will you live a life that is breathtaking or allow life to take your breath away?

The choice is yours: CHOOSE WISELY!
