I thought I was crazy when this dropped in my spirit, but God provided confirmation so I knew I must share this thought especially at a time such as this. This is a miraculous truth that many of us overlook:
God will heal you in the middle of a storm even when He doesn’t make the storm go away
To illustrate: Let’s say you have been suffering from pain for years and the doctors either can’t pinpoint exactly what’s wrong or seemingly there’s no cure. They give you medicine, suggest physical therapy and a few other things. You comply, feel better at times but your pain/illness becomes something that you accept. “Just one of those things that you have to deal with,” you reason.
You are determined to live the best life possible and you no longer look forward to a day where you will be pain-free. You know that God is able to heal you, but you believe that perhaps He has chosen not to. Several years later, you are given another test and they find the root cause of your problem. The only solution is surgery to remove a large mass pressing against your spine and causing your pain. You trust God and decide to have the surgery, as you can already feel partial paralysis, one of the things that only surgery can prevent. Although it is a delicate procedure, you are at peace and know that you will come out of surgery better than before.
Here is the beginning of where many of us go wrong. It is true that there are many things that God allows us to go through and deal with. It is also true that although you must believe that God is able, that you must also learn to accept those things that God allows. However, accepting your journey does not mean that the natural solution should cause you to stop praying for the supernatural.
In the above illustration, it is advisable for that person to have the surgery. However, if you believe God, do not stop praying for God to provide you healing and restoration before, during and after the surgery. See God can hold back the paralysis. God can reverse permanent damage that has already occurred and that the surgery cannot. God could heal you right up until the last moment prior to the surgery. All these things are truths even if God allows you to go through the surgery or journey.
So in the middle of your storm, please don’t stop believing and praying for God to perform a miracle. Don’t stop praying for restoration. And although you accept those things that you must go through and God allows, don’t stop praying for the manifestation of God in the midst of the storm. Stop focusing on God making the storm go away, but focus on receiving the peace that surpasseth all understanding in the midst of your storm.
Jesus knew he had to give his life on the cross and prayed to the Lord up until. Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
It’s okay to speak to the storm but just make sure you speak to the one that has power on the storm. It’s okay to see the storm and acknowledge it’s existence, even to make preparations, but make sure you invest more time acknowledging God. For if you do, God will move according to your faith and still the storm although He might not take it away.
Matthew 8:23-27 23 Then He got into the boat and His disciples followed Him. 24 Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke Him, saying, “Lord, save us, we’re going to drown!” 26 He replied, “You of little faith! Why are you so afraid?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. 27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey Him!”
