Even the best of us need to periodically do a self-check. I like to do one quarterly and annually; this last one was eye opening:
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2, KJV
It is one thing to pray for something continually, year after year, and get use to the “praying mode”. Are you really ready for God to grant you what you are praying for? We say “yes”, but often time tells a different story.
If we ever come out of the “prayer/begging” mode, we are often plagued by the “it is supposed to come” or “look this way” mode. Where do we get the “it is supposed to come” or “look this way” perception from? OTHER PEOPLE!
I grateful for God’s love and self-evaluation! I was causing myself unnecessary anguish and ready to cast away my blessing because it didn’t look the way “I THOUGHT it should”. My fear, past experiences and perceptions largely based on other people’s experiences were trying to shield me from being hurt. We all do it, in one manner or the other, but the problem was this was something I had prayed and waited years for! I was overlooking the blessing and depth of another’s actions, because it did not come the way “I wanted it to”. How misguided! (Only the Lord can show you the error of your ways and lovingly correct you before you make the mistake of a lifetime!)
So, on this Motivational Monday, who holds the vision of your life? Check my social media pages as this will be a theme I will address all week long. Nevertheless, make sure that no one else holds the vision for your life, unbeknownst to you, and you’re just along for the ride. One of the worst things in life is to realize that you forfeited your dream and potential based on someone else’s limitations or perceptions. God forbid!
